Where the money goes

Monthly spending goes overwhelmingly to direct support for the people in the programme. There is no payroll: the people doing the follow-up are volunteers or work in one of our partner public services.

R$700 to R$800
rent, per person, per month
R$150
food allowance
In months when the local social service provides no food parcel.
Variable
medication not covered by the public health system
Depends on each person's situation.
~R$1,000
average monthly cost per person supported

The Institute also covers the team's transport to the person's home on visit days. That is the only significant operating expense outside direct support.

Transparency reports

Accounts and letters to supporters, by year. Every document is a PDF and can be downloaded freely. The documents are in Portuguese.

Governance and team

The Institute is run by a largely volunteer team, working alongside the public services of São Carlos.

Supporting one person costs on average R$1,000.00 per month. That is what stands between someone and a return to the street.

Together we can! Shall we?
